HEATHER OPASIK, FOUNDER

CERTIFIED ELITE POSTPARTUM & INFANT CARE DOULA
LABOR DOULA & LACTATION EDUCATOR

Heather has worked as a labor & postpartum doula since summer of 2014. Attending trainings through CAPPA & ProDoula, Heather recently became an CED-PIC. Personal experiences of attending births as well as, her own two very different experiences of birth and postpartum has only continued to fuel her passion for perinatal support.

Heather strongly advocates that we were never meant to do this alone, taking the quote “It takes a village” to heart. Providing unbiased, evidence based and emotional support during your own journey is a passion that Heather brings forth. She strives to provide parents with the tools and skills needed so that when your time is ending with support from The Stork’s Doula, your family and household is left thriving and confident in their roles. Heather has seen first-hand the impact this type of support can have during the physical and emotional transitions of becoming a parent and within relationships. She has found that if a parent is confident, informed, and most importantly well taken care of, the parenting experience is more empowering and there is a stronger bond with baby and other members of the household.

Heather lives in Southfield with her husband, Cory, her two children, Frankie and Birdie,. When she is not with her own clients, she can likely be found providing postpartum support at Fourth Tri Sanctuary. Heather continues her education through trainings and workshops for the perinatal period, including maternal mental health.
